If you want to do this as a day-trip from Dresden, you have to calculate 9:00 to 19:00.

It is possible (and conveniant) by public transport as train or bus (1,5-2 hours drive) as well as by car.

Visit of Museum für Bildende Künste (Museum of Arts) with modern paintings of Leipzig school and Socialist realism.

 

Even better, if you stay overnight in Leipzig.

Concert at Gewandhaus Leipzig or St. Thomas Church.

Day 2

Morning:

 

 

Experience the Leipzig industrial architecture as well as the river landscape and the city by the water on a boat trip. This is where the first mailing catalog in Germany was created. You will visit the former colored yarn production as a major industrial monument and experience houses on stilts.

 

Lunch at a restaurant at the canal.

 

Afternoon:

Take a driving tour along the Monument of the Battle of Nations and extend the tour with a trip to the newly created lakes in the south of Leipzig, the recreation area „Neuseenland" at the former brown coal open-cast mining areas.
